Firefox Sync Service now simplified

Most of us who have used Mozilla’s Firefox and have tried to use the Sync Service to bring back our old bookmarks, user accounts, history etc., from one system to another, we know it was a long and boring process with lots of authentication processes.

In the earlier Sync System we would have to use an authorization key to get back or transfer our stuff from one system to another, but if it was misplaced or given wrong, due to the fact that Mozilla never stored that data on any database would effectively mean losing it for good, though it has the advantage of anonymity and security the Sync System had to be used very cautiously.

Now with the introduction lately of user accounts and passwords for the Mozilla accounts, things are going to be getting easier. In case of any hardware failure or just plain transition from one system to another, one only has to be provided with the username and password and can retrieve all the relevant information, bookmarks and history from the Mozilla servers. This slightly loses its flare for anonymity as compared to the previous method but still the possibility that the favorites can be brought back is lot of peace of mind.

There are a large amount of people using Firefox and it is third in popularity but with the possibility of having the transfer over of the different bookmarks, user accounts and favorites with a reduced ambiguity must in most sense be a pull factor for increase in the growth of Firefox users.

Other details on further development and enhancements were promised to be shared soon as the improvements continue by Mozilla.
